“I enjoy the family atmosphere at Broeren Russo, where everyone is going in the right direction,” says Scott Browning, Senior Estimator. Scott joined the Broeren Russo team in 2016 and appreciates the variety in his daily responsibilities. “Being involved in the construction industry provides a constant learning environment, even after 28 years of experience,” Scott notes. Scott’s responsibilities include bidding public and private projects, updating and tracking cost histories, and evaluating the current market.
Michael Hernandez, Senior Project Manager, notes, “I am glad to be a part of a team that works with integrity and has an established positive reputation in the community.” Michael joined the Broeren Russo team in 2016, after gaining 20 years of industry experience in Architecture, Development and Construction Management. His daily responsibilities include on-site project management, communication, and coordination with architects, owners and subcontractors. “Everyone at Broeren Russo is focused on meeting the client’s needs and delivering high quality products,” Michael notes.
Austin Hogue rejoined the Broeren-Russo team in 2014 as an Estimator, and is now a Senior Project Engineer. His experience as a Project Engineer while previously with Broeren Russo, paired with knowledge gained in a Project Management role, allow him to accurately prepare bids and maintain constructive relationships. Austin also enjoys the bidding process – “The BR team rallies together to put our best foot forward when preparing estimates.” Austin’s responsibilities include reviewing plans and specs, working with subcontractors during the bid process, participating in pre-bid meetings, and ultimately preparing precise estimates.
Brent Moore joined the Broeren Russo team in 2013, and is now a Senior Project Engineer. Brent notes, “Working on-site is very fulfilling because it allows me to build strong relationships with our project team through daily communication.” Brent spends much of his time providing on-site management and subcontractor coordination. “Communication is an essential characteristic of a successful project and we measure success by our ability to exceed client expectations.”
“Our management team is diverse. Clients get the depth of knowledge from our experienced managers, and new and innovative ideas from the younger project managers/engineers,” says Michael Broeren. “There is great support for creative thinking and implementation.” Michael has a unique role within the company. He serves as Broeren Russo’s Vice President of Steel Operations through Prairie Steel Services, Inc., a division of Broeren Russo.
Josh Kuhn joined the Broeren Russo team in 2015 as a Project Engineer and Assistant Superintendent. A graduate of Illinois State University in Construction Management, Josh also has experience in residential carpentry and excavation. Because Josh is usually involved in several small projects at once, his daily tasks involve communication and coordination with various subcontractors, superintendents, architects and owners. “I enjoy being a part of all the different jobs that we have,” Josh notes.
Abi Kadur is excited about his position as a Project Engineer at Broeren Russo. Abi graduated from the University of Illinois with a Masters in Civil Engineering. In his role as Project Engineer, Abi is responsible for RFI submittals, project control and subcontractor relations. “At Broeren Russo, everyone is committed to the same goal: delivering projects at the highest quality, while going the extra mile to build strong relationships with clients and subcontractors,” Abi notes.
Shawn Reinhard joined the Broeren Russo team in 2016 as a Project Engineer. A graduate of the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, Shawn enjoys working with subcontractors to ensure the site runs smoothly and on schedule. Shawn notes, “I appreciate the interaction I have with all levels of the management team at Broeren Russo.” In his role as Project Engineer, Shawn also documents daily progress to ensure quality completion of tasks.
Gokhul Ranganath, Project Engineer, joined the Broeren Russo team in January 2017 after completing a Masters Degree in Civil Engineering at the University of Illinois. Gokhul appreciates the opportunity to work with highly skilled and motivated individuals each day. His daily responsibilities include document control, daily progress reports, and subcontractor relations. “Teamwork goes a long way for Broeren Russo and our clients,” Gokhul notes. “It enables us to meet schedule deadlines and handle projects with top quality.”
“Broeren Russo is a company with a perfect marriage of ability and integrity,” notes Thomas Peisker, Project Assistant. Thomas joined the Broeren Russo team in 2016 and performs a variety of daily tasks to ensure the success of Broeren Russo projects. He also plays a role in promoting and marketing the many strengths of the Broeren Russo team to building owners, architects, and construction partners.
“My experience working at Broeren Russo has been like joining a new family,” states Jaime Jones, Community Planner at Broeren Russo. “This family is kind and they care about each other and the community, so I get to be a part of that expression.” Jaime joined the Broeren Russo team in 2017 and is coordinating the 40th Anniversary celebration and outreach activities. He is a graduate of the University of Illinois, with a Bachelors in Political Science (2015) and a Masters in Urban Planning (2017).
