“I enjoy coming up with creative ideas to make sure that we are meeting or exceeding our clients’ goals in every construction project,” says Stuart Broeren, Chairman of Broeren Russo. Over 30 years ago, he and long-time friend John Russo decided to blend their talents and form what is now Broeren Russo Builders, Inc. Stuart advises the leadership team regarding contracts, insurance, finance, bonding, risk management, marketing, owner negotiations, and labor relations.
“I like the idea that I get to be a part of the on-field team and not just a principal on the sidelines,” says John Russo, Vice President of Business Development for Broeren Russo. The two founders and their innovative team have been building some of the highest quality commercial buildings in Central Illinois for the last three decades. John advises the leadership team regarding all aspects of the construction process from the initial stages of design and bid development to awarding subcontracts.

“It’s really a great feeling to know I’ve earned a client’s trust,” notes Sky Sanborn, Executive Vice President and COO of Broeren Russo. “Just as much as finishing on-time and on budget, that relationship is important in being able to call a project successful.” As Chief Operations Officer, Sky ensures that business operations are efficient and effective, as well as the development, design, operation and improvement of the systems that allow Broeren Russo Builders to provide every client with excellent service.
“Our management team is diverse. Clients get the depth of knowledge from our experienced managers, and new and innovative ideas from the younger project managers/engineers,” says Michael Broeren. “There is great support for creative thinking and implementation.” Michael has a unique role within the company. He serves as President of Prairie Steel Services, Inc., a division of Broeren Russo.
Chad Dalton knew he joined a great team when he came to Broeren Russo several years ago. “The craftsmanship and the management are real strengths of this company,” he said. As Vice President of Field Operations for Broeren Russo, Chad oversees manpower, tools and equipment on each of the projects where he has responsibilities. His priority is to make decisions that help the Project Manager, the Foremen on the job, and ultimately the client. Chad’s ability to understand the work at hand allows him to assign the right staff to complete the work on time and within budget.
